Oxygen indicators are used to ensure the oxygen levels within a sealed environment remain below 0.05% by volume, the minimum requirement for safe food preservation.
Oxygen indicators change colour from pink when O2 levels are below 0.01%, to blue/purple when O2 levels are above 0.05%.
They can be used to test the function of oxygen absorbers, the oxygen permeability of Mylar and vacuum packing bags and the presence of leaks in any anaerobic sealed environment.
Each oxygen indicator measures approximately 2.3cm in height by 3.5cm in width.
Oxygen indicators have a shelf life of 12 months if stored in a refrigerator.
